Secret prayers to thank God. Prayers of thanksgiving for every day Thanksgiving prayer to the Lord

Prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for everything

We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us as and You deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, making us worthy to be worthy of Your love.

Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, O Lord, all who call upon Thy name in truth, remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.

Who needs a prayer of gratitude to God for everything and why? One day, Jesus Christ, enlightening the future Apostles, uttered the words: “You call Me Lord, Teacher..., and I am among you as one who serves.”

During earthly life, and to this day, He does not cease to patronize and care for us. And about everyone, not just Christians. Humanity can be divided into:

  • grateful to God;
  • never thanking;
  • involuntarily (accidentally) thanking.

The Orthodox Church refers to those who glorify God, and not in any way, but “correctly.” And this community was established by the Lord and His Apostles ( cheat Symbol of faith). Does the Almighty, All-sufficient, All-knowing and All-seeing Heavenly Father need our earthly gratitude? It turns out that it is necessary, and first of all, for ourselves.

Always rejoice and give thanks

Gratitude to God- not a simple manifestation of politeness. This is a response to His Love, filling the heart with joy, light, grace, which transforms the human soul. Imagine that your loved one has presented you with a bouquet of flowers. Your mood immediately rises, it becomes light and pleasant. And this is just from some flowers. The gift of God is billions of times greater.

When giving thanks, a gate is opened through which the Spirit of God enters. Not only do “wings behind your back” grow, but spiritual wounds are healed, receiving the balm of belonging to eternity. Whatever it is in your soul, you just have to start thanking God, and pain, fear, and sorrow are transformed into silence, joy, and peace. Hopelessness and unbelief flow into living faith.

Ingratitude is pride

It turns out that thanks to us, we perform a miracle - we work together with God. He gives, and we accept His gift. If there is no feeling of Gratitude, we are closed to the penetration of Light. We remain petrified, we do not transform. Why do Angels constantly Praise God? They “feed” on His energy.

In order not to die, we need to eat. Thanksgiving is also necessary so that by connecting with the Lord we can be deified. A striking example of the absence of this feeling is Dennitsa. Having become proud, having lost his connection to the Creator, he imagined himself to be a god. Having once been the most beautiful of creatures, he turned into Satan - a terrible monster. Thank God we cannot see his current form.

Note: God tolerates us a lot, but He does not tolerate grumbling. Because this indicates a complete lack of gratitude. The Lord leaves such a person. Demons become his masters.

Why should you be grateful for everything?

The hardest thing is to understand that you need to thank not only for the help shown, some understandable joyful events, but also for sorrows, illnesses, and misfortunes. Sooner or later we will learn that it was not in vain that we suffered, endured, and bore grief on our shoulders. The Lord does everything out of Love, out of Great mercy towards us. Not a single hair will fall from our head in vain. In order not to explain for a long time, I will give a parable. Let it be a little naive and simple, but it gives an answer to this question.

Parable: It's for the better

The two Africans had been friends since childhood, like inseparable brothers. One was chosen as king. Having taken a high position, he did not forget about his faithful friend - he was always there. But he had an oddity, which, for the time being, the Ruler put up with. No matter what happened, good or bad, the comrade always said: “This is for the best.”

One day while hunting, the king was injured: a finger was torn off by a charge. And his friend loaded his guns. Yes, apparently the gunpowder was packed too tightly. Despite such misfortune, he said, as usual: “My King, this is for the better!” But this time, he was angry and ordered the culprit to be put in prison.

A year later, during another hunt, the king and his entire retinue were captured by people from a tribe of cannibals. They tied him up and brought him to their village. They had a belief: if a person had some kind of physical defect, he should not eat it. Seeing that the king was missing one finger, they set him free.

Returning home, he remembered his bosom friend. The feeling of guilt that he had treated him badly haunted him. Then he decided to ask his friend for forgiveness. He came to him, told him everything, apologized for keeping him in prison for a year. To which he replied, smiling:

- King, you did a very good thing by imprisoning me - it’s for the best!

- Yes, you’re at it again! What good can this do?

- If you had not imprisoned me, I would have been hunting with you. And he would no longer speak, but would have been eaten by cannibals.

From the story it is clear that we do not immediately see what benefit illness or sorrow brings. Not in this world, but in the next we will know: the Lord dealt with us out of Love. Therefore, you must always give thanks for everything here on earth, trusting in God’s providence. Who knows, maybe it will be too late to do it later. Believe that everything that happens to us is for the better.

How to thank God for everything

A person cannot always feel a sense of gratitude both to people and to God. In illness or misfortune, one cannot speak of praise. The heart turns to stone, consciousness becomes dull, not only physical but also mental strength is taken away. I. Brianchaninov (having experienced it himself) advises:

  • Solitude. Slowly, pondering the words, say a few phrases out loud, overcoming your state and indifference.
  • Can I say briefly: Glory to Thee God, Glory to Thee. Thy will be done.
  • Or so: Glory to Thee, our God, for the sorrow sent.
  • Or like a thief crucified on the right: I accept what is worthy of my deeds: remember me in Your Kingdom.
  • Or repeat everything together several times. Until you feel peace and tranquility in your soul.
  • If you would like to express deeper gratitude, read Thanksgiving for every Good Deed of God presented on this page.
  • Ancient way You will find doxologies and prayers of praise in the Psalter. For example, kathismas 19 and 20 are fully consistent with this theme.
  • Finally, there is a wonderful Akathist: “Glory to God for everything,” compiled by Metropolitan Tryphon (B.P. Turkestanov).
  • In any temple You can order not only remembrance of relatives, but also thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus Christ.

See how quickly relief comes. If the situation seemed hopeless, there will be a way out. The situation will be resolved, the illness will begin to recede, and you will endure grief more easily. Repentance and humility that fill the heart will attract the Grace of the Holy Spirit, and with Him there is nothing to be afraid of. Then you will truly know how close the Lord is to us.

The highest form of gratitude to God for everything

There are many prayers of thanksgiving that you can choose to suit your occasion. Basil the Great recommended: preface any appeal with Doxology and repentance, and only then voice the request. Therefore, almost any prayer consists of three parts. Determine the right one yourself. By adding to the address the words: “Thy will be done, and not mine, O God,” show cherished humility.

Church services are structured in the same order. The Eucharist comes first. Participation in it is the most effective thanksgiving to God for everything. Communion is the highest good for a person, and gratitude to the Almighty Father for all Gifts, especially for the opportunity to accept the Divine fire, to merge with Christ through His Blood and Body.

Conclusion: We must thank God always, everywhere, for everything and constantly many times a day. But during the Liturgy, saying “Lord, have mercy” once means more than all the prayers read at home, even if you master 150 psalms.

The Gospel tells about the cases when ten lepers, one of whom returned with gratitude, were acquitted by Jesus, the other nine were condemned. Thus the thanksgiving prayer service was born. Since then, people have been going to church and ordering it.

A prayer of thanksgiving is a short service performed on behalf of the entire community of believers. To implement it, you need to know how to correctly order a thanksgiving prayer service and who can do it.

How to write a prayer of thanks correctly

Before submitting a note for a prayer service, you need to write it correctly. To do this, you need to know certain rules for drafting and where it is submitted. And the correct way to write a note is:

  1. The petition is written on a sheet of A 4 format or on its fourth part.
  2. A cross is drawn at the top of the sheet.
  3. It is written “about health” or “about repose.”
  4. List the names. There should be no more than 10 of them in one note.
  5. All names are written in the parent case.

Names are written in the following sequence:

  • men,
  • women,
  • young men,
  • girls,
  • girls,
  • infants (children under 7 years old).

The only exceptions are people who have committed suicide. They pray for them at home.

How to properly order a thanksgiving prayer service in church

Thanksgiving prayers are held by absolutely all churches without exception. In order to order it, you just need to come to the temple and give a note before the start of the service to the attendant who sells candles.

In this case, you must make a donation and buy several candles for the service.

When are thanksgiving services ordered?

Anyone can order a prayer service, regardless of age and gender. However, you cannot bring such notes to church every day.

The Gospel tells us how the Lord Jesus Christ healed ten people from an incurable disease at that time - leprosy. This was an obvious miracle of God: Christ simply directed them to show themselves to the priests, the lepers left him sick, and everyone was healed along the way. It was obvious that this could only happen through the power of Christ. However, out of ten, only one person returned to thank the Lord Jesus! Of course, the Lord was upset seeing such human ingratitude. We are also saddened when reading about this incident, but we forget that God’s grace and mercy are often poured out on us, but we do not thank the Lord.

When you successfully resolve life’s difficulties and go through life’s stages, you need to thank God both in home and church prayer. Having prepared, proceed to Confession and Communion at the Liturgy. Order a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus Christ or the Most Holy Theotokos, which the priest will perform after the Liturgy. In this way you will follow the example of the tenth leper who was healed.

There are many images of the Mother of God, famous for their miracles: Kazan, Iverskaya, Tikhvin, Unfading Flower, Inexhaustible Chalice and many others. It is believed that through different icons the Mother of God helps in different needs. However, you can thank the Mother of God for her help in front of any icon. And, of course, if you prayed for something and the Blessed Virgin helped you, you should thank Her in front of this image. Find it in any temple.

How to order a thanksgiving prayer to Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary?

You can order a prayer service for yourself, for your entire family, and, for example, for your classmates or colleagues, if you all successfully passed an exam or accomplished an important matter.

If, on the contrary, you are preparing for an important event or enduring everyday difficulties, you can also order a regular prayer service to the Lord.

Anyone can order a service, but only the names of baptized people will be mentioned at the prayer service. The rules for writing a note in church and ordering a prayer service are quite simple:

    • The note can be written both at home and in the temple. In the church they usually give a note form with the inscription “About health” at the top and blank lines where you need to write names. At home, you can simply divide an A4 sheet of paper into 4 parts and write “About health” at the top.
    • Under the words “About health” (or above them, this is not important) specify what kind of service you are ordering, for example, in this case, “Thanksgiving prayer to the Lord”, or “...Theotokos”, or “... in front of the icon of the Mother of God of Iveron/Kazan/ Smolenskaya, etc.”, if you want to thank the Lady of Heaven in front of this image.
    • List the names - no more than 10 in one note - of those you want to pray for or thank God for. People must be baptized in Orthodoxy (otherwise you can only pray for them at home). Write in legible handwriting, neatly.
    • First, write the names of the clergy (if you want to pray for one of them), men, then women, and lastly children (divided into “babies” - up to 7 years old and “youths” - after 7).
    • Names are written in the genitive case, that is, “About health” - whom? - “Andrey, Elena, sick Igor...”

How to pray during a prayer service?

We must remember that prayer is not a ritual or a conspiracy. As in communicating with ordinary people, in order to correctly communicate with God, the following rules must be observed. These are rather the rules of dialogue, conversation with Him, so that you yourself can hear the words of the Creator in your heart:

    • Pray consciously, listen to the words of prayers.
    • Pray at the prayer service you ordered from beginning to end. This is not a prayer that will be prayed “for you” while you are resting. The priest prays for you on behalf of the entire Church.
    • Check the prayer time in advance. It is usually celebrated after the morning Liturgy.
    • Believe that God hears you. He will do whatever is best for you in all circumstances. We all have to go through certain difficulties, learning life lessons, becoming stronger, smarter and kinder.
    • Pray to the Lord at home, ask Him for help in any difficulties and thank Him for His care. The Church blesses us to read the morning and evening prayers every day, which are in every prayer book, with appeals and repentance to the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos. Any prayers can be read both in the temple and in front of the home iconostasis.

You can read a prayer of thanks for healing from illness, recovery, and avoidance of danger to life online in Russian using the text below. Initially, this prayer was written in Church Slavonic by one of the greatest saints of the twentieth century, the wonderworker, Righteous John of Kronstadt - the priest of St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Kronstadt near St. Petersburg:

Glory to Thee, our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Son of the Beginning Father, the One who has the power to heal any ailments and ulcers in people! I thank and glorify you for having mercy on me, a sinner, and delivering me from my illness, not allowing it to develop and my death due to my sins. Give me from today, O Master Lord, the strength to firmly do Your will for the salvation of my sinful soul and for the glory of Your name with Your Beginning Father and Your Consubstantial Spirit, that I may glorify You forever. Amen.

May the Lord and the Virgin Mary protect you!

Faith in God is the basis of soul salvation for every Orthodox believer. Sincere prayer can work real miracles, but the most important thing is that it helps a person take the righteous and true path that will lead him to the Kingdom of God, it can inspire a person to do good and open his heart. The Church believes that gratitude is one of the most important Christian feelings. Prayers of thanksgiving directed to the Lord God are very important for every believer. It should be understood that it is imperative to thank the Almighty for help in business.

Gratitude expressed to the Lord God in prayer is a ray of light that will help expel resentment and anger, hatred and disgust from the soul. Thanks to the Almighty, a person claims that he has learned the lessons sent down and made the right conclusions.

What is a prayer of gratitude

The Prayer of Gratitude is a special prayer that must arise in a person’s heart. It should be remembered that if it is pronounced correctly, it can radically change the life of a believer. After all, it is in this way that you can make it clear to the Lord that you humbly accept everything that he gives in real life. You are grateful to him not only for the joys, but also for the trials that he sends you. The Church offers a special way of offering thanksgiving - this is a thanksgiving prayer to the Savior. Every believer can order it in any church, but it should be remembered that it is mandatory to attend such a service.

Each person can offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God or his Holy Helpers in his own way. There are no strict rules about this. But due to the different characters of people, some believers do it easily, while others experience certain difficulties during prayer.

Difficulties with a prayer of thanks arise for a believer when serious difficulties and obstacles arise on the path of life. But we must remember that it is impossible to grumble at God in any situation, because trials from above are not sent to us in vain. All obstacles on the path of life arise when the Almighty wants to show a person that he is leading a lifestyle that is displeasing to God’s plan. And this, first of all, can be disastrous for the person himself. Therefore, if it seems to you that everything in your life is not working out as you would like, just pray and offer your thanksgiving to God in a prayerful appeal.

Lord God

A believer should get into the habit of thanking God for everything that happens to him in the real world, namely:

  • In general, for the opportunity to live and feel;
  • For moving forward and the ability to make decisions in any situation;
  • For victories and rewards for labor;
  • For life lessons and challenges that allow you to gain invaluable experience;
  • For everything valuable in life: family, children, parents, friends, shelter over your head, work and even your beloved pets.

You can thank the Lord at any time with these simple prayer words:

“Lord, I, the Servant of God (my own name), thank You for my wonderful life, filled with light, for the wonderful and happy feelings that are present in my soul, for the fact that I can be merciful to others, for giving me the fire of insight and mercy.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), praise You and thank You, Almighty, for the fact that your instructions help me realize all my internal accumulations. I am grateful to You for the fruitful path in life that You have sent down and for the opportunity to fulfill my destiny.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), glorify You and thank You, Almighty, for the prosperity and peace in my home. I am grateful to you for the atmosphere of kindness and understanding between household members, for the loyalty of wonderful friends who always come to my home with an open soul.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), glorify You and thank You, Almighty, for the good that You have sent down for all people. I rejoice and accept everything around me with bright thoughts and an open soul.
I, the Servant of God (my own name), praise You and thank You, Almighty, for the fact that everything around me is filled every minute with streams of Your wisdom and love. Your strength helps you choose the right path and hope for the Eternal Salvation of the Soul. Amen".

I praise and thank the Most Holy Theotokos for all her deeds aimed at protecting and supporting the human race. You are the Queen of Heaven, all the Angels and Archangels worship and serve you. I praise Your greatness and Your womb. You, Most Holy Theotokos, gave the Savior to the whole world. You have given us hope to live Eternal Life. You are our Comforter and Helper, you take all women and mothers under your protection. You give us the strength to resist any evil and go through life with our heads held high. For everything I have in life, I say thank you, for every day I give you a song of gratitude. I bow to you deeply. I ask for mercy and forgiveness of my sins. Amen".

The words of the prayer of thanks addressed to the Most Holy Theotokos are best read in the morning, completely alone, in front of the icon. It is recommended to repeat the prayer text three times.

Guardian Angel

Prayers of gratitude directed to the Guardian Angel are often used. These incorporeal and immortal creatures are appointed by God at the birth of a person. The Guardian Angel always walks through life next to a person, protecting him and warning him against wrong actions and decisions. Very often he saves a person or provides assistance in the most hopeless situation. Gratitude expressed in prayer always helps to establish closer contact with your Guardian Angel.

“I, the Servant of God (my own name), glorify and thank the Almighty for his mercy, which he shows to all living. I, the Servant of God (my own name) turn to my protector Guardian Angel. I offer him my gratitude and worship for the fact that every moment he intercedes before the Lord for my sins, known and unknown. For his presence next to me, for his participation in all my deeds and my daily help. My gratitude is limitless, it knows no bounds. Amen".

Very often prayers of thanksgiving are read on a specific occasion. It is permissible to apply them to any Saint who is related to a specific area of life.

Upon receipt of the requested

Moreover, the sphere of influence of this Saint is extensive, he helps to heal and improve health, find happiness in your personal life and improve family relationships, find a common language with colleagues and get a good job. You are the Protector of the human race and you atone for the sins of everyone who asks before God; we bow to You for this. I thank You for this and ask for mercy for all people. Pray for us, for our peaceful life and family happiness in peace and grace. I, the Servant of God (my own name), praise Your holy name and send a prayer of gratitude to You. Amen".

After healing from illness

When a person is seriously ill, he turns to God with prayers for healing. Therefore, after recovery, you should definitely read a prayer of gratitude. There is a special prayer appeal from St. John of Kronstatt to God, which is recommended to be read after healing.

The text of the prayer is:

“I praise You, Lord Almighty and Merciful, Only Begotten Son of the Beginning Father, Jesus Christ. By your will alone, you heal all sorts of ailments and all sorts of human illnesses. Thank you for having mercy and giving me forgiveness, for delivering me from my serious illness and for saving me, a sinner, from hopelessness that could kill me. I pray, the Lord of Heaven Almighty, from now on to grant me the inner strength to walk the righteous path and do Your will for the salvation of my soul. Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen".

After getting rid of temptations and enmity

There is another very important prayer for every believer from St. John of Kronstatt, which is read after deliverance from temptations and enmity.

Its text reads as follows:

“Glory to You, Almighty Heavenly King. I thank You that You did not leave me in the devil’s darkness. You sent me a ray of light and showed me the righteous path. My Lord, Almighty and All-Merciful Lord Jesus Christ! My speedy Intercessor, I thank You for your mercy towards me. When I called out to you in the darkness, you quickly responded and graciously delivered me from my enemies. My soul was filled with light and lightness. I praise Your grace, Master, for delivering me from dishonor and not allowing me to despair and fall into the damned world. I will always glorify Your name for You are a Lover of mankind. Amen".

After Holy Communion

Communion is a very important rite in the Orthodox Church. Thanks to this sacrament, the believer is reunited with the Lord. After the rite of communion has been carried out in accordance with all church rules, a prayer of gratitude must be read.

You can use various prayer texts, one of them sounds like this:

“I thank You, my Lord, the All-Merciful and Almighty, for not rejecting me, a sinner, the Servant of God (my own name), but allowing me to join Your Holy Things. I thank You, the Almighty, for deigning me, unworthy (unworthy), to partake of Your most pure and heavenly Gifts.

I ask, Lord, Lover of Mankind, who died for the sake of us living, and subsequently rose again, who gave us these terrible, but also life-giving Sacraments of God for the purpose of benefit and sanctification of the souls and bodies of people, make them help me heal my soul and body. So that they give spiritual strength to repel the attack of any enemy, so that enlightenment comes in my heart, and I see with my eyes the righteous path.

So that they strengthen my faith in the Lord Almighty, so that they fill my life with wisdom and unfeigned love. So that the holy sacraments give me the opportunity to endlessly glorify Your grace and Your Kingdom. So that I, Slave(s) of God(s) (proper name) will be forever preserved by them and remember your boundless mercy and live not only for myself, but for the Most High Master and Benefactor.

When the time comes to leave real life in the hope of eternal life, so that I can reach the place of eternal peace in Heaven next to You. For I recognize that You are the true goal of my life’s aspiration and of all people on earth. I sing and thank You, Lord. Amen".

Prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for help

A prayer of gratitude to the Lord God for help, support, solutions to pressing problems, healing from illnesses - this is the gratitude that every prayer book should offer to the Creator. God is Love, and in addition to faith in Him, you must be able to give thanks.

What to say thanks for

For most people, and even those who consider themselves believers, everyday life seems dull and difficult.

There seems to be absolutely nothing to express a grateful feeling of gratitude to Christ for. This happens because people have forgotten how to accept gifts and enjoy them, considering what they receive as something they should have. But each of us receives the richest treasures from God: life, love, friendship, the ability to breathe, think, give birth to children.

It was Heaven that gave us the majestic beauty of nature, rivers and lakes, steppes, mountains, trees, the moon, and heavenly bodies. And if we don’t know how to thank, we don’t receive other gifts.

If you have received what you asked for, thank the Almighty, in your own words, or better yet, in prayers. The human soul is alive as long as faith lives. And it must be supported by prayer appeals.

Advice! In addition to prayer, thanksgiving can be expressed by giving alms to poor people or tithing to the temple.

For every day lived, for the blessings sent down from Heaven, for the health, for the happiness of beloved children - for all the blessings of God, a prayer of gratitude to the Lord God should be heard from the lips of the petitioners.

It is necessary to learn to appreciate what seems self-evident, every little thing - only then will a person understand that absolutely everything in this mortal world happens according to the Will of the Heavenly Father.

It is necessary to offer thanksgiving to Jesus Christ with a pure heart and a bright soul, only then will it reach the Throne of God. And in response to the prayer book, God’s blessing and mercy will descend.

The Cathedral of Saints Angel and Archangel, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Save me, Who art thou King on high, save me and sanctify me, Source of sanctification; For from You all creation is strengthened, To You countless warriors sing the Trisagion hymn. Unworthy of You, who sits in the unapproachable light, of whom all things are terrified, I pray: enlighten my mind, cleanse my heart, and open my lips, so that I may worthily sing to You: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord, always, now, and ever and to endless ages of ages. Amen.

We praise God to you, we confess the Lord to you, the whole earth magnifies the Eternal Father to you; To you all the angels, to you the heavens and all the Powers, to you the Cherubim and Seraphim unceasing voices cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory, the glorious Apostolic face is to you, the prophetic number of praise is to you, the most luminous praises you martyr army, the Holy Church throughout the entire universe confesses to You, the Father of incomprehensible majesty, worshiping Your true and Only Begotten Son and the Holy Comforter of the Spirit. You, the King of Glory, Christ, You are the Ever-Eternal Son of the Father: You, having received man for the deliverance, did not disdain the Virgin’s womb; You, having overcome the sting of death, have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers. You are seated at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father, the Judge has come and believed. We therefore ask You: help Your servants, whom You redeemed with Your Honest Blood. Make it worthy to reign with Your saints in Your eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless Thy inheritance, I will correct and exalt them forever; Let us bless You all the days and praise Your name forever and ever. Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: may Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee. In Thee, Lord, let us put our trust, let us not be ashamed forever. Amen.

Prayer of thanks upon receiving what you asked for

Glory to Thee Savior, Almighty Power! Glory to Thee Savior, Omnipresent Power! Glory to Thee, most merciful Womb! Glory to Thee, ever-opening Hearing to hear the prayer of the accursed me, to have mercy on me and save me from my sins! Glory to Thee, brightest Eyes, I will look upon me with kindness and insight into all my secrets! Glory to Thee, glory to Thee, glory to Thee, Sweetest Jesus, my Savior!

Thanksgiving Service

In addition to prayers, the Church practices the service of thanksgiving prayer.

How to order a prayer service

To order it you need:

  • come to the temple and write a note in the candle shop with the title “Thanksgiving prayer to Jesus Christ”;
  • enter in the column the names of the donors, only those given in the Sacrament of Baptism (in the genitive case - from whom: Nina, George, Lyubov, Sergius, Dimitri);
  • there is no need to enter the surname, patronymic, citizenship of the donor, as well as names in diminutive form (from Dashenka, Seryoga, Sashka);
  • It is recommended to assign status to names: bol. - sick, md. - infant (child up to 7 years old), neg. - youth (teenager from 7 to 14 years old), warrior, nepr. - not idle, pregnant;
  • give the completed form to the candle maker and make the recommended donation (if a person is experiencing financial difficulties, then no one will demand payment from him for the donation);
  • there is no need to indicate the reason for gratitude, the Almighty knows everything and is aware of everything, He is the Knower of the Heart;
  • it is advisable to purchase a candle in church (any candle, and its price and size do not affect the quality of gratitude or the fervor of prayer);
  • on the eve of the prayer service, place it in a candlestick near the icon of Christ.

Important! Gratitude is offered to God not only for joy, happiness, health and well-being, but also for sorrows, troubles and misfortunes, for the Wrath of God and His punishment - this is a severe test and the path to Salvation.

Rules of conduct during prayer services

  1. It is necessary to be personally present when the cleric performs a prayer service and work prayerfully together with him and other parishioners.
  2. If a person is seriously ill, then one of his relatives or friends can attend the prayer service on his behalf.
  3. Being late for service is rude, to say the least. Usually the services are performed at the end of the Liturgy, and it always takes place in the morning. Therefore, you first need to clarify the start time of the prayer service.
  4. During prayer, you need to think about every word spoken by the priest and, if possible, repeat the text to yourself after it.

Important! You cannot be indifferent at the prayer service - after all, this is a personal prayer to the Lord of each parishioner who ordered the thanksgiving service.

Services in the church are performed in the Church Slavonic dialect. This language is not understood by all parishioners, so it is recommended to parse the text of the prayer service yourself in advance.

It is not necessary to look for translated literature on the shelves of libraries or in bookstores - now there is enough information on absolutely any topic on the Internet.

Often prayers of thanksgiving are read along with other ordered requirements:

Sometimes the priest serves a general prayer service, combining all the services ordered for that day. Don't worry, the "quality" of your thanksgiving will not be diminished at all.

The prayer of gratitude should take a place in the heart of every person. Its correct and sincere pronunciation can radically change your life.

She makes it clear to the Lord that the prayer book humbly accepts everything, joys and difficult trials, that Heaven gives him. Everyone knows that it is impossible to grumble at God, because obstacles in life happen when a person leads a lifestyle that is displeasing to the Almighty, which is destructive for his soul.

Advice! If everything in life does not work out the way you would like, then prayerfully thank God for everything, trust Him with all your heart, without relying on your mind.

And then the Creator will make all the paths of earthly existence straight and full of happiness.

Thanksgiving for every good deed of God

It is advisable to read prayers of thanksgiving every day. Thank the Lord for every day you live, for the blessings sent down to you, for the great gift of health, for the happiness of your children. For everything you have at the moment, even if, from your point of view, it is not that much.

Saint Gregory the Theologian wrote: “The Lord thirsts to be thirsty, and fills those who want to drink; He accepts it as a good deed if they ask Him for a good deed. He is accessible and generously gives great gifts, giving with greater joy than others accept on their own. Just by not revealing a low soul, asking for what is unimportant and unworthy of the Giver.”

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. We praise Thee, we bless Thee, we praise Thee, we praise Thee, we thank Thee, great for the sake of Thy glory. Lord the King of heaven, God the Father Almighty. Lord, Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Soul. Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, take away the sins of the world, accept our prayer. Sit at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you are the only Holy One, You are the only Lord Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

I will bless You every day, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.

May Thy mercy be upon us, O Lord, as we trust in Thee.

Blessed art thou, Lord, teach me by thy justification (this is repeated three times).

Lord, you have been our refuge throughout all generations. Az said: Lord, have mercy on me, heal my soul for those who have sinned against You. Lord, I have come to You, teach me to do Your will, for You are my God, for You are the source of life, in Your light we will see the sowing. Show Your mercy to those who lead You.

Song of the Lord Jesus Christ:

The only begotten Son and the Word of God, immortal, and willing for our salvation to be incarnate from the Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, immutably made man, crucified Christ God, trampling death by death, the only one of the Holy Trinity, glorified to the Father and the Holy Spirit, save us.

In Your Kingdom, remember us, O Lord, when You come to Your Kingdom.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for for them is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are those who cry, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed ones are merciful, for they will receive mercy.

Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for these shall be called sons of God.

Blessed is the expulsion of truth for the sake of them, for those are the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile you, and destroy you, and say all sorts of evil things against you for lying to Me.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is abundant in heaven.

The Lord shepherds me and will deprive me of nothing. In a green place, there they settled me, on the calm water they raised me. Convert my soul, guide me on the paths of righteousness, for Your name’s sake. Even if I walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me: Your rod and Your club will comfort me. Thou hast prepared a table before me to resist those who are cold against me: Thou hast anointed my head with oil, and Thy cup makes me drunken, like a mighty one. And Thy mercy will marry me all the days of my life, and let us dwell in the house of the Lord for the length of days.

Prayer of gratitude to the guardian angel.

Having thanked and glorified my Lord, the One God of the Orthodox Jesus Christ for His beneficence, I appeal to you, holy angel of Christ, Divine warrior. I appeal with a prayer of gratitude, I thank you for your mercy towards me and for your intercession for me before the face of the Lord. Be glorified in the Lord, angel!

A short version of a prayer of gratitude to the guardian angel.

Having glorified the Lord, I pay tribute to you, my guardian angel. Glorious be you in the Lord! Amen.

Prayer of thanksgiving by St. John of Kronstadt, read after healing from an illness.

Glory to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of the Father Without Beginning, who alone heals every ailment and every illness among people, for You have had mercy on me, a sinner, and delivered me from my illness, not allowing it to develop and kill me according to my sins. Grant me from now on, Master, the strength to firmly do Your will for the salvation of my damned soul and for Your glory with Your Originless Father and Your Consubstantial Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayers of thanksgiving for Holy Communion.

Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God.

Prayer of thanksgiving, 1st

I thank you, Lord, my God, for you have not rejected me as a sinner, but have made me worthy to be a partaker of your holy things. I thank You, for You have vouchsafed me, who is unworthy, to partake of Your Most Pure and Heavenly Gifts. But the Lord, the Lover of Mankind, for our sake, died and rose again, and granted us this terrible and life-giving Sacrament for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies, grant this to me for the healing of soul and body, for the driving away of all that is resistant, for the enlightenment of the eyes of my heart , into the peace of my spiritual strength, into unashamed faith, into unfeigned love, into the fulfillment of wisdom, into the observance of Thy commandments, into the application of Thy Divine grace and the appropriation of Thy Kingdom; Yes, we preserve them in Your shrine, I always remember Your grace, and I live not for myself, but for You, our Master and Benefactor; and thus having gone from this life to the hope of the eternal life, I will achieve everlasting peace, where those who celebrate the unceasing voice and endless sweetness, who behold the ineffable kindness of Your face. For You are the true desire and the inexpressible joy of those who love You, Christ our God, and all creation sings to You forever. Amen.

Prayer 2, St. Basil the Great

Master Christ God, King of the ages, and Creator of all, I thank Thee for all the good things He has given me, and for the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Mysteries. I pray to Thee, O Kinder and Lover of Mankind: keep me under Thy roof, and in the shadow of Thy wing; and grant me with a clear conscience, even until my last breath, to worthily partake of Your holy things, for the remission of sins and eternal life. For You are the living bread, the source of holiness, the Giver of good things, and we send up glory to You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer 3, Simeon Metaphrastus

Having given me flesh by Your will, fire and scorch the unworthy, do not scorch me, my Creator; rather, go into my mouth, into all my parts, into my womb, into my heart. The thorns of all my sins fell. Cleanse your soul, sanctify your thoughts. Confirm the compositions with the bones together. Enlighten the simple five of feelings. Fill me with Thy fear. Cover me always, keep me, and save me from every deed and word of the soul. Cleanse and wash and adorn me; Fertilize, enlighten, and enlighten me. Show me Your village of the one Spirit, and not to anyone the village of sin. Yes, like Your house, the entrance of communion, like fire, every evildoer, every passion flees from me. I offer prayer books to You, all the saints, the orders of the disembodied, Your Forerunner, the wise Apostles, and to this Your undefiled, pure Mother, graciously accept their prayers, my Christ, and make Your servant a son of light. For You are the sanctification and the only one of ours, the Good One, of souls and lordship; and like unto You, like God and the Master, we send all glory every day.

May Thy Holy Body, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, be unto me for eternal life, and Thy Honest Blood for the remission of sins: may this thanksgiving be unto me joy, health and gladness; at Thy terrible and second coming, vouchsafe me, a sinner, to the right hand of Thy glory, through the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother and all the saints.

Prayer 5, to the Most Holy Theotokos

Most Holy Lady Theotokos, light of my darkened soul, hope, protection, refuge, consolation, joy, I thank Thee, for Thou hast vouchsafed me, unworthy, to be a partaker of the Most Pure Body and Honest Blood of Thy Son. But She who gave birth to the true Light, enlighten my intelligent eyes of the heart; You who gave birth to the Source of immortality, revive me, killed by sin; Even the merciful Mother of God, have mercy on me, and give me tenderness and contrition in my heart, and humility in my thoughts, and appeal in the captivity of my thoughts; and grant me, until my last breath, to receive consecration of the most pure Mysteries without condemnation, for the healing of soul and body. And give me tears of repentance and confession, to sing and praise Thee all the days of my life, for Thou art blessed and glorified forever. Amen.

Now do You let Your servant go, O Master, according to Your word, in peace: for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all people, a light for the revelation of tongues and the glory of Your people Israel.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (three times).

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.

Lord, have mercy (three times).

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Troparion of St. John Chrysostom, tone 8

With your lips, like the lordship of fire, grace shining forth, enlighten the universe: do not gain the love of money and the treasures of the world, showing us the height of humility, but chastising with your words, Father John Chrysostom, pray to the Word of Christ God to save our souls.

Glory: You have received Divine grace from heaven, and through your lips you have taught us all to worship the one God in the Trinity. All-blessed John Chrysostom, Reverend, we worthily praise you: you are a mentor, as if you are manifesting the Divine.

Troparion to Basil the Great, tone 1:

Thy message went out into the whole earth, as if it had received your word, which thou hast divinely taught, thou hast clarified the nature of beings, thou hast adorned human customs, the royal priesthood, reverend father, pray to Christ God that our souls may be saved.

Glory: You have appeared as an unshakable foundation for the church, giving to all inconspicuous dominion by man, sealing with your commands, the unappearing Reverend Basil.

And now: The intercession of Christians is not shameful, the intercession to the Creator is immutable, do not despise the voices of sinful prayers, but advance, as the Good One, to the aid of us who faithfully call Thee: hasten to prayer, and strive to supplicate, ever interceding, the Mother of God, who honor Thee.

Whom have we received from God above divine grace, O glorious Gregory, and whom we strengthen with strength, who thou hast deigned to walk in the gospel, from whom thou hast most blessedly received from Christ the recompense of labor: pray unto him that he may save our souls.

Glory: You appeared to the Chief to be the shepherd of Christ, the monks of the succession, Father Gregory, instructing the heavenly fence, and from there you taught the flock of Christ with His commandment: now you rejoice with them, and rejoice in the heavenly roofs.

Lord, have mercy (12 times). Slava: And now:

We magnify Thee, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison, the Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, the real Mother of God.

Thanksgiving for every good deed of God.

Give thanks to Thy unworthy servants, O Lord, for Thy great good deeds upon us; we glorify Thee, bless, thank Thee, sing and magnify Thy compassion, and slavishly cry out to Thee in love: O our Benefactor, glory to Thee.

As a servant of indecency, having been honored with Your blessings and gifts, Master, we earnestly flow to You, giving thanks according to our strength, and glorifying You as the Benefactor and Creator, we cry out: Glory to You, All-Bountiful God.

Theotokos, Christian Helper, Your servants, having acquired Your intercession, cry out to You in gratitude: Rejoice, Most Pure Virgin Mother of God, and always deliver us from all our troubles with Your prayers, One who will soon intercede.

Song of praise, St. Ambrose, bishop Mediolansky

We praise God to you, we confess the Lord to you, the whole earth magnifies your eternal Father. To You all the angels, to You the heavens and all the powers, to You the unceasing voices of the cherubim and seraphim cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory. To you is the glorious apostolic countenance, to you the prophetic number of praise, to you the bright martyr’s army praises, to you throughout the entire universe the Holy Church confesses, the Father of the incomprehensible majesty, the worshiped

Your true and only begotten Son and Holy Comforter Spirit. You are the King of glory, Christ, You are the ever-present Son of the Father: You, having received man for the deliverance, did not disdain the Virgin’s womb. Having overcome the sting of death, you have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers. You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father, come and believe in the Judges. We therefore ask you: help your servants, whom you have redeemed with your honest blood. Make it worthy to reign with Your saints in Your eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless Thy inheritance, I will correct and exalt them forever: we will bless Thee all the days, and we will praise Thy name forever and ever. Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: may Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee: in Thee, O Lord, do we trust, that we may not be ashamed forever. Amen.
